Northern Traditions: A Lucia Drabble
"But shouldn't Lucia be female?" Ed asked while he flipped through the book detailing Northern cultural customs and traditions with a very skeptical look on his face.
Mustang shrugged. "Yes, but she should also be blond, according to tradition. And you try to get Hawkeye to play the part. Besides, she's too tall for the nightgown."
Ed opened his mouth to voice a protest, but was interrupted by Mustang swiftly pulling the nightgown in question over Ed's head. It was a rather plain white nightgown, made out of ordinary white cotton cloth. There was however a certain amount of lace brimming the neckline and the long sleeves. Definitely more than enough for Ed's taste.
"Tell me again why we're doing this?"
"I told you. It's an old custom from up north. Can't skip on traditions, can we?" Roy Mustang tried to hide his amusement. "Now, just let me add some details and we're ready to go." He quickly arranged the red ribbon around Ed's slender waist and tied the ends into a bow. Finally he placed a crown with candles on top of Ed's head, lighted the candles, and took a few steps back to admire his work.
"Perfect!" he concluded. "Now let's go wake the others up. Remember not to move too fast," he reminded Ed, "or those candles will drip and you'll burn yourself. Oh, and try not to trip on the gown, it seems to be a tad too long for you."
