Horizontal Promotion

"Athrun?" Cagalli said, her voice slightly muffled by the pillow and somewhat unsteady by the slight distraction provided by his hands fondling her body.

"Yes?"

"Um, you DO know that I'm not the one actively choosing who's deserving of a promotion, don't you?"

He paused in his current efforts of trying to cover her body with kisses. "You don't?!" he said with a tone of mock astonishment. "I had absolutely no idea!" His obvious overplay made it impossible for her not to smile.

"Of course, I'm the one to actually approve all high-ranking military promotions," she added after a brief period of silence. "So please go on with what you were doing..."
